Core Logo

Our Core Logo should be your first, go-to logo option. It's clear lines and clean visual make for a big impact.

Vertical Core Logo

When space is limited, our Vertical Logo may be used. It means we can show up reliably in every circumstance.

Logo with Wordmark

The Logo with Wordmark should be used sparingly. It works to quickly identify and reinforce our brand in select instances, such as international broadcast and brand partners.

Usage approval is required from Event Marketing.

Annual Logo
Annual Logo

The Annual Logo abbreviates the year of the event in a direct and accessible way. Note that it should only be used to refer to the specific occurence of the event happening in that year, and not the Australian Open as a tournament.

China Wordmark
China Wordmark

The China Wordmark may be used in situations where the audience is more likely to understand Mandarin rather than English.

Please contact the China Department for guidance on when to use the Chinese Logo with Wordmark.

Exclusion zone and minimum size

The exclusion zone is the margin of clear space that is required around our Partner Logos. The zone safeguards the legibility and impact of the logo by isolating it from other visual elements like text, graphics and imagery. No other elements can enter the exclusion zone, which is the margin of clear space equivalent to ‘x’ in the image shown.

Descriptor text must be scaled appropriately to ensure it is legible, and clearly associable with the Core Logo.

Incorrect usage

Our logo must remain consistent and instantly recognisable.

The AO logo must be instantly recognisable in all circumstances.

Don’t use drop shadows.

Don’t distort the logo.

Don’t angle the logo.

Don’t recreate the logo.

Don’t re-scale or move elements of the logo.

Do not change the colour of the logo unless you have approval from Event Marketing.

Don’t place the logo on backgrounds where the image distracts from the brand.

Don’t place the logo near any graphics that compromise the prominence of the logo.

Don’t place the logo on a background that makes its elements difficult to see.

Badge and fav icon

We like our logo to feel boundless, but in some cases — like social media — it needs to sit within a container.

Keep it centred with plenty of clear space, and watch for added platform padding. For small containers, use the white logo on a dark background for better legibility.

Accessibility

The Australian Open is proudly open for all. Please use appropriate colour constrasts to ensure an accessible user experience for everyone.
